Xaura Reishi Coffee: What is Ganoderma and how is it prepared?
Share
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is among the most well-known medicinal mushrooms in Asia. Combined with Arabica coffee, it has created a beverage that is now consumed far beyond Korea. In this article, we explain what Reishi is, how Xaura Reishi coffee is prepared, and which varieties are available.
What is Reishi?
Reishi is a tree mushroom that has been used in traditional nutritional science in China and Japan for centuries. In German, it is also known as the "shiny lacquer polypore." For food products, an extract from the fruiting body is usually used, which dissolves well in hot water and provides a slightly earthy, tart flavor.
What ingredients are in Xaura Reishi coffee?
- Arabica coffee – the basis for all three varieties
- Reishi mushroom extract (Ganoderma lucidum)
- No artificial flavors and no preservatives
An overview of the three varieties
- Black Coffee (Classic) – strong and unsweetened, for those who enjoy black coffee
- 2 in 1 (Creamy) with coconut milk – milder and creamier, without cow's milk
- Latte (Low Caffeine) with white chocolate – sweet taste and less caffeine
How is it prepared?
Empty the contents of a single-serving sachet into a cup, pour in about 150–200 ml of hot water, and stir until the powder has completely dissolved. No filter, no machine, no waiting time. One pack contains 30 serving sachets.
When is the best time to drink it?
That is a matter of taste. Many people drink the Black Coffee in the morning and the Latte with less caffeine in the afternoon. As with any coffee, if you are sensitive to caffeine, it is best not to drink it shortly before bedtime.
Who is it suitable for?
For adults who like to combine their coffee with natural ingredients. Contains caffeine and is therefore not recommended for children, pregnant women, or nursing mothers.
