How Does a Transdermal Patch Work? Xpain, Xrecovery and Vitamin Patches at a Glance
Share
Transdermal patches are thin patches you stick on your skin and wear for a set period of time. They've become popular in recent years because they're easy: apply once, wear, and replace after the recommended time.
Why many people prefer a patch
The reason is usually simpler than you'd think – it's about convenience. A patch goes on in the morning and you don't think about it for the rest of the day. Anyone who has ever given up a routine because it was too complicated knows how much difference that makes.
Xpain: the 48-hour patch
Xpain contains, among other things, Korean red ginseng, hydrolyzed collagen, glucosamine, saponins and silver ions. It can be worn for up to 48 hours and is waterproof. It's usually worn on the shoulder, neck or back – the important thing is to choose a new area of skin each time you change it, so your skin can recover.
Xrecovery: up to 80 hours
Xrecovery relies on tourmaline and essential oils of mint and eucalyptus with menthol – hence the cool feeling on the skin. At up to 80 hours, it has the longest wear time in the range. More on this in this article.
The 24-hour patches at a glance
These four patches are changed daily:
- Omega Patch – 24 hours, as a transdermal patch for your daily routine.
- B12 Patch – 24 hours, popular as an easy part of the morning routine.
- D3K2 Patch – 24 hours, often chosen in the darker months.
- Collagen Patch – 24 hours, as an addition to your skincare routine. Read more about the X-Col collagen patch in this article.
Application and changing rhythm
For comfortable wear, always apply the patch to clean, dry and preferably hair-free skin. Xpain is changed after 48 hours, Xrecovery can stay on for up to 80 hours, and the Omega, B12, D3K2 and Collagen patches are replaced every 24 hours.
Change the application site regularly. Don't apply a patch to irritated, reddened or broken skin, and remove it if the skin underneath itches or turns red.
